BASIS points on offer at Fruit Focus

BASIS

BASIS members heading to Fruit Focus on 25 July will have the opportunity to collect up to six BASIS CPD points.

Two of the available points can be obtained by visiting the BASIS stand and presenting a membership card to a member of team. Those without a card can simply fill in a form with their details.

Stephen Jacob, BASIS CEO, explains that the remaining four points can be picked up by participating in various technical events throughout the day.

'I'd highly recommend joining in with one of the fruit forums, research tours or vines to wines workshops, where the latest industry updates and innovations will be showcased.

'Those completing these sessions will be rewarded with up to four points, one for each activity,' he says.

To collect their points, members should follow these steps:

  • Visit the BASIS stand and collect a stamp card
  • Get their membership card scanned to collect two points for attendance
  • Participate in activities, and collect up to four stamps
  • Hand the stamp card back in at the stand and points will be awarded accordingly

The BASIS team will be on hand throughout the day to assist in point collection, but will also provide advice and guidance to prospective members, and will have details of the wide range of training courses.

As well as the BASIS Certificate in Crop Protection (Commercial Horticulture) there is a range of advanced crop modules available. These enable individuals to focus their learning on soft fruit, top fruit and hops, or field vegetables.
