New mites able to tackle western flower thrips showcased by AHDB at Fruit Focus16-Jun-2017
Western flower thrips (WFT) can cause major damage to strawberry crops, but AHDB have been researching new ways to tackle the pest.
The three-year long research project, which has now reached its culmination, looked at alternative predatory mites to the established Neoseiulus cucumeris. A number of mites have worked well at controlling WFT in AHDB trials and will be on show at Fruit Focus for visitors to learnt about.
AHDB will also be detailing other fruit research projects to growers, as well as showcasing the reworked, RB209 fertiliser guide
